If you are of South Asian descent, you need to look no further than your own close circle of family and friends to realize how deeply this disease has affected and devastated lives. We would like you to experience the comprehensive services that we provide at this Center, personally.
We invite you to sign up for our unique screening and wellness program, one that includes an assessment of your medical and family history, your lifestyle habits including exercise, diet, stress, addictions, support structure, your physical characteristics, and a panel of advanced tests that pinpoint the emerging risk factors for heart disease in South Asians. We follow that with education, recommendations for lifestyle modifications, referrals to wellness resources, communication with your primary care provider, and continued case management to monitor your heart health on an on-going basis.
Give yourself the gift of heart health. Get screened now. You owe it to your family and friends.
Doubtful? TiE Charter member Faruq Ahmad talks about how he managed his risks partnering with the Center
We provide the consultations with our clinical and nutrition staff at no cost to you.
The South Asian Heart Center, a unique not-for-profit collaboration between El Camino Hospital and the South Asian community, is pioneering an unparalleled effort to promote better heart health in South Asians, and combat the serious epidemic of heart disease afflicting our community.
Since the Center opened in June 2006, we have screened thousands of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and community members. Many participants are often surprised at their undetected high level of risk determined by the Center's comprehensive, evidence-based standards. Many of them have had regular check-ups, are not overweight, do not smoke and are vegetarians. The good news is that we are able to help them mitigate their high risk of heart disease and prevent an imminent adverse event, predominantly with lifestyle modifications.
